A love for wood is one of them. This is a story that begins in 1960 — and arrives, finally, in your home.
Dubai is one of the most extraordinary places on earth — a city that rose from desert sand in a single generation, built entirely on human will and vision. It is a place of ambition, warmth, and the relentless pursuit of the beautiful.
And yet, in all that ambition, something quiet is easy to miss. The texture of grain. The weight of a living material. The particular stillness that only something grown slowly — over decades, through seasons of rain and sun — can bring into a room.
Wood carries that memory. It does not announce itself. It simply sits — and the room becomes warmer, quieter, more grounded for it. In a city that builds at speed, a piece of mango wood is an act of intention. That is what ELANORA brings home.
Mango trees bear fruit for 15 to 20 years. When the fruit stops coming, the tree is harvested — and the timber begins its second life. No forest cleared. No living tree felled for wood alone.
The grain is dense and warm. Every piece is unrepeatable. It takes hand carving the way few other woods do — and it only gets better with age, deepening in colour and character as the years pass.
We are a brand built on wood — which means we are built on nature. That is not something we take lightly.
With every ELANORA sale, one percent of the value is set aside for the plantation of new flower plants in India — through AAPSI, an NGO working to restore green life to the places that have given so much of it to us.
It is a small act. But it is a deliberate one. Because the wood that arrives in your home was once alive, and something alive should follow it.
When my wife and I began building our home in Dubai in 2017, we looked for wooden décor that felt alive — pieces with warmth, character, and the quiet confidence of something made by a person rather than a machine.
What we found instead was flat. Lifeless. The same pieces everywhere — same forms, same finish, same absence of soul. Something was missing, and we felt it every time we walked into a room.
That search lasted eight years. And at the end of it, instead of finding what we were looking for — we built it.
I grew up around wood. Not as a hobby — as a language. My grandfather spoke it in the timber yards. My father spoke it on the factory floor. By the time I built my own career — a decade in branding and value addition, learning how to make things compelling — I already knew the material.
What I did not know was how to find it in Dubai. That search, which began in 2017, became the education that no classroom could have given me. Eight years of understanding what was missing, what was possible, and what the market deserved but wasn't getting.
ELANORA is the answer to that search. Sixty-five years of family knowledge, arriving finally in your home.
